I love this particular light house. It is in my favorite little town…Jupiter, FL. But I also am particularly glad to see it today because of the symbol a light house is…it reminds me of something very important.
A lighthouse is designed to give light to those who are trying to come home, those who are lost in the fog or the darkness, people who feel alone and are weary from their travels, or maybe someone who is hurt, sick and needs help.
The situation of my life lately has me looking for the light from the darkness that surrounds me from time to time. I find great comfort in seeing the light…it reminds me that I am never alone. Jesus is always nearby to lead me to the light and comfort my soul. He has sent me wonderful people who are family and friends and even strangers to call out to me in the darkness to lead me to the warmth of the light. It gives me strength to carry on.
I must always remember that in times of trouble. Because it has been the truth that has guided my life.
“ARISE, shine: for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” Is. 60:1
” You are the light of the world; A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a table, but on the lamp stand; and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.” Matt. 5:14-16
