Paintings

Art has always been a part of my life. I won my first blue ribbon for my art at age 5. I was raised in an artistic family and was always encouraged in art. Creating is a vital part of my every day life.  I was introduced to Acrylic paint as a medium when I was in high school and have painted with it ever since. Acrylic is a medium that can be used in an endless variety of expression with a variety of tools and medium.

In these paintings I have used palette knives, and paint straight out of the tube so as to not lose it’s brightness. My plan was to start with a canvas, prepare the paint and then let my expression and creativity be free. As a result I had an incredible amount of fun, like when I was five and I had no rules to follow or techniques required of me.

It is my hope that anyone looking at my paintings will pause for a moment, lingering in wonder as to what the painting is saying to them, and possibly to “Think outside the box”.

Its easy to recognize a painting of a person, an object, animal or even a place, but to look at a painting and ponder what feelings it promotes can truly be a wonderful experience. A great piece of art hung in your home can create a variety of feelings for everyone whose eyes gaze upon it.
