It is all in your Perspective.

It is all in your Perspective.
I am a big NFL fan. So much so…that I am in a NFL Fantasy Football League. This is my third year and it has been a big learning curve for me. I have as you would suspect some wins, some losses, some strong players, weak teams, strong teams and weak players. Mistakes are made in every game. Some teams let the mistakes beat them down and they end up losing the game. Other teams learn from their mistakes… keep their head in the game, and end up winning. Their attitude is determined on how well they keep their perspective of what is happening in the game.
Perspective:
“a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view”.
“…My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness”. So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12: 9-10
As a world we tend to see weakness in a person as something that keeps them from being perfect. When you make a mistake today…you are ridiculed, made an example, put down, laughed at, and basically made to feel like a loser. But Paul has a different perspective…in our weakness we are a step closer to achieving perfection because of the Lord’s Grace.
This is a great concept for those who are confronted with put downs resulting in self ridicule. If we let negative self-talk take over…we put ourselves at risk of getting depressed and giving up.
Grace and forgiveness of imperfection gives us a chance to reframe our thinking and put a positive spin on our mistakes. We look at our lives differently to possibly turn situations around. In other words…turn a loss into a win!
Reframing your usual view of your world toward the positive seems to be the message here. Knowing that God forgives us continually through His grace is a great comfort. Learning from mistakes is the goal…but knowing that we are given second and third chances puts a different spin on learning.
Keep learning… don’t beat yourself up… and never,… ever give up!
