One Rainy Blustery Fall Day

One rainy blustery Fall day, I was driving on the Freeway. I was in the right lane preparing to exit the FWY in a mile or so. I came up behind a pickup truck hauling a handmade trailer that contained what appeared to be a bunch of junk. Securing the contents was a large blue door. No ropes…no bungee cords…just the heavy blue door. I watched as the wind moved the contents in the trailer along with the door. I heard myself say out loud, “That door is going to get blown up out of that trailer and come straight at me!” So I backed way off and kept a safe distance. Sure enough, the wind picked up the door and hurled it toward my windshield. Thinking fast I quickly got on to the shoulder of the road. Unfortunately the wind shifted again and the door came towards me again. Within a second…I put my car back into the right lane…just as the door came slamming down by my passenger side with a loud BANG!!! It didn’t hit my car! WOW! I couldn’t believe the course of events! Wide eyed I turned to my empty passenger seat and said a grateful, “Thank you!”

I believe that the Lord was with me that day.

…I imagined…. early that morning up in Heaven….this could have been the scene…

The angels were in the cafeteria drinking coffee while waiting for their daily assignments. They began discussing which human being they would be guarding today. They got in a heated discussion about me. One angel said, ” Well I hope that I don’t get stuck with Kim today…the last time I was with her …I was scared nearly to death”. Another angel added…”Well I don’t have my wings because of her…they keep deducting points every time I am assigned to her.” The discussion continued, as the Lord sat nearby listening and quietly sipping His earl grey tea. Without looking up… Jesus raised His hand and said, “Please stop arguing!….Kim has that door incident coming up…and I’ve got to be there!

I am wondering if any of you have a story where you know…. the Lord was keeping you safe? Please share…should be fun and encouraging. 🙂
