Praise the Lord!

My niece and her son’s came to visit me for a week. We had a fantastic time. We had a week filled with a lot of coming and going. A little hiking, some shopping, a ton of motor cross, great food and conversations. Now they are on their way home and I miss them like crazy already! The Lord gave me a time of restoration.  I have had a tough season of late. Now…it’s time to go back to the real world.

I have mixed emotions…but one thing for sure…I am happy my family came to see me! So… I am going to push the sadness aside for a while and take time to Praise the Lord!

I started reading Psalm after Psalm and come across the perfect one!

Praise the Lord from the Heavens; Praise Him in the heights! Praise Him all His angels; Praise Him all His hosts! Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him , all you stars of light! Praise Him, you heavens of heavens; and you waters above the heavens!

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created. He also established them forever and ever; He made a decree which shall not pass away. Praise the Lord from the earth, you great sea creatures and all the depths; fire and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind, fulfilling His word; mountains and all hills; fruitful trees and all cedars; beasts and all cattle; creeping things and flying fowl; kings of the earth and all peoples; princes and all judges of the earth; both young men and maidens; old men and children.

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted; His glory is above the earth and heaven. And He has exalted the horn of His people. The praise of all His saints…of the children of Israel, a people near to Him. Praise the Lord!

Psalms 148

This life is all about the LORD! He created everything! It is all about His love for all that He created! He gave us the capacity to love. Thank you for the love of my family. Thank you Lord for all your blessings in good seasons and bad!

I praise your name!

While I was reading the Psalms…I noticed that the very last Psalm and the very last words from it’s writer were, ” Let everything that has breath praise the Lord” Ps. 150:6

I find this very interesting. David ‘s life is presented in the book of Psalms. He had ups and downs that were not like you and me. David lived a life of danger…he was stalked, he had to hide for his very life. People were out to get him continually. Yet through all this trauma…his very last words were…”Let everything that has breath…Praise the Lord”. I think that is remarkable. The implication that the whole universe is like a temple in which all should praise the Lord. I think that is a wonderful concept.
